Mount Fuji

Mt. Fuji is a mountain famous throughout the world as the symbol of Japan. In English, the mountain is known as Mount Fuji., but Japanese speakers refer to the mountain as "Fuji-san".
It was added to the World Heritage List as a Cultural Site on June 22, 2013. It is the highest mountain in Japan.
Being the highest peak in the country, with a proud height of 3,776 meters above sea level, many climbers aim to reach its top.
With a 360 degree panorama on the 3,776 meters summit, you can fully enjoy being far atop a sea of clouds. The summit of Mount Fuji has a tundra climate.
The temperature is very low at the high altitude, and the cone is covered by snow for several months of the year.
You can climb Mt.Fuji, a symbol of Japan, during the mountain's opening season from 1st of July to 26th of August.
It takes about 6 hours from fifth station (the entrance of the climbing route) to the top of the mountain. It is the most popular route.
Every year many climbers visit from overseas to seek glorious view from the top of the highest mountain in Japan.
The other route is Yoshidaguchi course, a traditional climbing route that you can walk from Fuji Sengen Shrine to 5th station.
And also, it is convenient to drive up to 5th station by using Fuji Subaru Line.

Dos and don’ts for Climbing Mt.Fuji
- The season is from July 1 to August 26. It is at about 5.6 degrees C even in the summer on the mountaintop. Clothing for cold weather is required.
- Also, prepare thick gloves, hats, mountaineering boots that cover the ankle, rain apparel, light meals, electric lamp, first-aid medicines, tissue, towels and garbage bags.
- Take water, sweet stuff and rests while climbing.
- The ascent to the summit does not pose any major difficulties regarding climbing skills.
- Only at some points the terrain is rather steep and rocky. Abundant signs along the trail warn the hikers of other minor problems such as sudden wind gusts and falling rocks.
- The main challenge of the climb is the fact that it is very strenuous and the air gets notably thinner as you gain altitude.
