- 1 Join your hands and enter the zazan hall starting with your left foot.
2 Say hello to the people around you.
3 Fold your arms and legs, stretch your back, and straighten your body.
4 Take deep breaths.
5 Stay in the zazen seated position for 30 to 40 minutes. Once you are finished stand up and quietly enter the inner chamber.
6 When the bell rings finish your zazen, join your hands, and exit the hall.
